Award-winning storyteller Brenda Johnson shares The Last to Know, an original Juneteenth story exploring what it means to discover that everyone else knows something life-changing except you. Through powerful storytelling and historical reflection, audiences are transported to 1865 Galveston, where enslaved people learned—two years late—that slavery had ended. The Last to Know connects history, humanity, and the enduring meaning of freedom.
This program is free with Juneteenth Free Day admission and will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
