Shelby Slowik

Associate VP of Human Resources

Shelby Slowik is the Associate Vice President of Human Resources at Conner Prairie Museum. Her role includes overseeing employee relations, recruitment, payroll, training, adult/youth volunteer programs and internship programs. She has been with Conner Prairie for over 10 years, working with some of the most talented and diverse humans. Working with and connecting “Prairie People” to their passions is a position she plans to enjoy until retirement. Shelby has over 30 years of human resources experience, predominantly in healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Conner Prairie, she worked for 17 years at St. Vincent Medical Group – a part of Ascension Healthcare - in various leadership roles. She holds several certifications in the human resources field through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Shelby is a former Board Member for the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability and has served on various panels discussing the employment of those with “differing” abilities. Shelby is an Indiana native, Purdue graduate and long-term Hamilton County resident. As much as she can, she spends her free time hiking in the mountains of Montana or fly-fishing with her husband of 18 years.

Conner Prairie Foundation

The Conner Prairie Foundation board of directors oversees the management of the museum's endowment and the land and structures of the museum, including the William Conner House.
