Shirley Ray

Director of Interpretation

Shirley began her tenure as Director of Interpretation at Conner Prairie this year, bringing twenty-five years of management experience in the museum field at historic house museums and county historical societies throughout the Midwest. A native of Vincennes, Indiana, Shirley has always considered history an important part of her identity and enjoys finding creative approaches to connecting the past with the present. She is excited to explore new ways to present the vast physical, cultural, and historical resources of Conner Prairie to the community. Believing that museums serve a vital role in society every day, Shirley is honored to be part of Conner Prairie.

Conner Prairie Foundation

The Conner Prairie Foundation board of directors oversees the management of the museum's endowment and the land and structures of the museum, including the William Conner House.
