  • 1859 balloon voyage rides

     

     

    A general admission ticket is required to access the 1859 Balloon Voyage exhibit during regular daytime museum hours. An additional ticket is required to ride the balloon, which is available for purchase on-site.

    The Conner Prairie Museum Store is located inside the Museum Experience center and offers a curated selection of unique gifts to complement your museum experience, including Indiana-made food and locally crafted gifts. We also offer unique historic textiles and period clothing for children, perfect for bringing a piece of the past home with you.

Inclusion & Accessibility

Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Accessibility assistants, including interpreters for Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals, receive general admission free of charge. See our guest map for details on which historic buildings are ADA accessible.

Accessible parking is available close to the Entry Gates.

Sensory-Friendly Information

We are proud to offer families with children and adults with autism, as well as other sensory differences, spaces, and tools that they may need so that they can explore Conner Prairie as their true, authentic selves.

Here are our tips to help guide your way through Conner Prairie if you, or someone in your family, has sensory differences:

  • If someone likes to interact with animals, our Animal Encounters Barn is perfect.
  • If someone likes to tinker, visit Spark!Lab inside the Museum Experience Center.
  • If someone likes to get their hands dirty, join interpreters in tasks in Prairietown and Lenape Camp.
  • If someone likes to play with toys, come and play in Wellspring in the Museum Experience Center, River Crossing and Discovery Station out in the Junction.
  • If someone likes being out in the woods, Treetop Outpost is a great location for engaging with the natural world.
  • If someone does not like swift visual action/transitions or flashing lights, Power of Place and Wellspring may be overstimulating for some.
  • If someone does not like loud noises, Power of Place may be overstimulating for some.

Admission Policies

  • Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Pets are not allowed on Conner Prairie's property, except for service dogs.
  • Firearms are prohibited from being carried on the property by guests.
  • Parking is always free!

We do not allow the following:

  • Professional photography equipment, including tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks (without museum approval).
  • Due to safety considerations related to our 1859 Balloon Voyage, drones are not allowed on the property.
  • Photography or video recordings of children or families who are not part of your group.
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, hoverboards, roller skates, roller blades, or shoes with wheels in them.
